GARDEN SUMMARY
USING YOUR DATA FROM YOUR GROWTH JOURNAL, WHAT ARE SOME THINGS THAT AFFECTED THE GROWTH OF YOUR PLANT?
Some things that affected the growth of my plant would be organisms, such as ants, caterpillars, lady bugs, bacteria, and spiders. Dry weather, lack of rain, or too much rain can also affect the growth of the strawberry plants.
HAVING A CARBON FOOTPRINT IS A TERM HEARD ON THE NEWS. IT MEANS TO BE AWARE OF THE AMOUNT OF CARBON DIOXIDE PEOPLE PERSONALLY CONTRIBUTE TO EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE. GIVEN THE CARBON CYCLE, WHAT IS ONE WAY YOU CAN DECREASE THE AMOUNT OF CARBON DIOXIDE YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE CYCLE?
One way to decrease the amount of carbon dioxide in the world is to plant more plants so that they can absorb the carbon dioxide and provide more oxygen for us.
PREDICT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE DECOMPOSERS WERE REMOVED FROM OUR GARDEN. GIVE SPCIFIC EXAMPLES.
If the decomposers living in our garden were removed, the plants probably wouldn't get the nutrients they
need. Dead organisms would remain and no new soil would be created as fast as it would now. Suppose a plant dies of over-watering and it's left for the decomposers to break down. If there were no decomposers or bacteria, then there would be dead plants and animals everywhere.
WRITE A PLAN OF HOW YOU COULD INCORPORATE A COMPOST BIN IN YOUR HOME. WHAT WOULD YOU NEED? WHAT WOULD YOU NEED TO TEACH YOUR FAMILY?
If I was to put a compost bin in my backyard, I would need a big, wooden box (and maybe a screen protector) so I can fill the box with bio-degradable items that are not useful anymore. I would then apply rules in my family for them to throw the right kinds of trash in the bin so we could follow the rules of the reuse and recycle idea people use today.
